Overview
Create-a-Faithyou have all blog so you have idea
For our final project, you will design your own faith tradition. This is not meant to be a parody or a way of making fun of religion. Instead, it is a chance to bring together everything we have studied this semester and to show how religions answer big human questions.
You will borrow and adapt ideas from at least three of the traditions we studied, combining them into something new. Your faith should reflect meaningful beliefs, practices, symbols or stories, and a sense of community or ethics.
This project is open in format. You may write, design, record, or create in whatever way best allows you to express your ideas. No matter the format, you must also include a short reflection that explains what you learned, which traditions influenced your design, and why you think it is important to see value in faiths and traditions that are not your own.
This project is meant to be both creative and respectful. It is a way to demonstrate that you understand the significance of religion in people’s lives and can imagine how traditions connect to identity, culture, and meaning.
What to Include Your project should address these areas in some way (but the format is up to you):
- Beliefs or Teachings — What big questions does your faith try to answer?
- Practices or Rituals — What do followers do to live out their faith?
- Symbols or Stories — How is meaning expressed in images, art, or narrative?
- Community & Ethics — How does your faith guide people in living with others?
- Connection to Course Traditions — Show at least three ways your project borrows from or is inspired by religions we studied.
