nderstanding the role of an instructional coach is crucial for continued learning and development in schools. Instructional coaches provide critical support, guidance, and feedback. This role is vital in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration among teachers, empowering them to enhance their skills and ultimately improve student outcomes.
A local school that you have hoped to work with has received a grant and now has the budget to hire an instructional coach. You have recently accepted this position and are eager to introduce yourself and the new role to the staff.
Develop a 3-5 minute Lope Talk video, similar to a TED Talk, to outline your professional experiences and goals for the school’s future. Include the following:
- An introduction of yourself, including your leadership style and how that applies to your new role as an instructional coach.
- Your holistic thoughts on the roles and responsibilities of an instructional coach, to include your own vision or mission for your new role.
- Your plan to support teachers in developing a growth mindset and a culture of collaboration and problem solving.
- At least three research-based instructional coaching strategies you plan to implement to support adult learners.
