Overview
Foreign policy which can be defined as the actions and strategies which one nation takes towards other nations and non-state actors is of fundamental importance to the United States. However, Americans, historically have placed relatively little attention towards foreign affairs when compared to domestic concerns. As we are in the midst of a presidential election year, I want you to reflect on the following questions:
1. What does foreign policy mean to you?
2. What strategic interest, values, ideas should guide American presidents in their foreign policy?
3. What is the most important foreign policy issue of our day, and why?
This assignment will also serve as an introductory to our weekly discussion posts which will be due on Sunday of every week.
