Read Chapter 1," Writing from Research" in Lester and Lester; Chapter 11" What Research is and How Researchers Think about it" in Turabian; Chapter 2 "Finding a Topic" in Lester and Lester; and Chapters 1 and 2 “Writing as Communication”, and “Writing Competently” in Johnson et.al.
Your remaining assignment is to:
- Include a discussion of the following:
- Thesis Sentence
- Outlining and Formal Outline patterns
- Paragraph Development
- Punctuation, Grammar, Spelling, Capitalization, Colons, Commas
- Quotations and Direct Quotations
- Sentence Fragments
- Develop a short essay using the appropriate APA 7th edition format on, “The Right to Carry Concealed Weapons on College and University Campuses.” Be certain to include information from scholarly journals and scholarly texts such as those listed in the announcement section of this course. Your essay should be written in a 12- inch font, double-spaced, include an introduction, review of literature, policy implications, a conclusion, and references. Be certain to include citations. This essay should be no more than four (4) pages in length not including the cover page.
