Overview
For this project, you will design a presentation slide about an invasive species in a randomly selected category (see below). The invasive species you choose cannot be one discussed in the lecture. You can find a list of various invasive species at https://www.invasive.org/species.cfm or https://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/species-profiles-list. You can create your slide in Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, or any other software you choose. You must upload your assignment as an image (.jpg or .png) or PowerPoint (.pptx) file. You can use the lecture slides as a guide for how you should design your presentation.
Your slide should include:
- Your species common name
- Your species scientific name
- A photo of your species
- Remember to cite any photos you do not get for free.
- Use the © and photographer name to add attribution credit to an image
- Wikimedia Commons and Canva's free photo library are good places to find free photos.
- Where your species is originally found
- Where your species is invasive
- How your species got to where it is invasive
- What makes your species such a problem
- How people are trying to control your species
- Link to a YouTube video about your species
- Keep your video under 10 minutes, preferably under 5.
