Part 1: Select a focus

Focus matters when you are seeking to improve your understanding of the real experiences of members of your community. For this essay, select one of the focuses from the list below

• Immigrant and Migrant Health

Part 2: Read the textbook

Part 3: Attend a community activity

Please say that you have attended Dia de los muertos event and correlate that to the immigration and migrant health

Part 4: Write Essay

Write an essay of about 3 pages in length. A complete essay should include:

1. Description of the patient experience focus you selected and why
2. What you learned from the Med Mgmt textbook chapter on that focus that will apply to future practice as a PA
3. Description of the community activity you attended, and what you understand better about this focus after attending the activity
4. One example of how a culturally humble/proficient PA would approach this focus when caring for a patient with this experience or situation

Formatting and Style

Your ideas must be supported by references from appropriate peer-reviewed articles or professional organizations, and should show your ability to use curriculum from the Professional Practice courses.

Citations and references must be in AMA style.

Please include a title and reference page.
