Discussion: Nutrient Cycles

Overview

Carbon, water, phosphorus, sulfur, and nitrogen all cycle through the earth. and must remain in balance or they disrupt the life cycles of Earth’s inhabitants. Humans have played an active role in influencing these cycles which has resulted in disruption. These disruptions have altered the atmosphere that protects all of Earth's inhabitants.

this week’s discussion is an effort to help you investigate and explain one of two of these cycles - water or carbon. Expand the tab that corresponds with your last name and assigned topic.

The water cycle is a part of your everyday life. You plan your outfits, activities, and plans around what kind of precipitation might fall. Farmers work tirelessly to ensure their crops have sufficient water to grow properly. Indeed, the world over, access to safe drinking water is one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century.
