Diet analysis

This Diet Analysis assignment is worth 26% of your grade - 257 points. It's a very important assignment and probably one of the most valuable assignments you'll do in your college career. Why? Because it is about YOU! 😊

I take this assignment seriously and expect my students to as well. These are some comments past students have made about it:

  • You were so helpful and responsive in your feedback on each assignment. I could tell you truly read and reviewed the assignments that we submitted and that made me feel like my work meant something, as opposed to having the same "Great work" feedback on every assignment that I've experienced in the past.
  • The Diet Analysis assignment is very well organized. The explanation videos are super helpful. The workload is evenly distributed throughout the course. Your feedback on the assignment is clear and it is nice that you are understanding if we make a mistake. Thank you for letting us correct them!

I want you to make note of the last sentence regarding mistakes, "Thank you for letting us correct them." This is regarding Part D in particular.

NOTE: Trigger warning. Please review all parts of the DWP. If you suffer from an eating disorder and after reviewing all components, you feel it would adversely affect you, please reach out to me for an alternative assignment.

There are 6 major sections of this assignment.

IMPORTANT! Since this assignment builds on each part you must complete each in order. Part A must be completed before you move on to Part B, etc.

  1. Part A (20 points) – Take the MyPlate Quiz and submit your results
  2. Part B (55 points) – Handwrite (or type) your 5-day food log and answer the worksheet questions
  3. Part C (50 points) – Using your Part B food log answer questions regarding the 6 Dietary Principles and the Nutrition Facts food label panel. You will also create a meal plan for yourself.
  4. Part D (40 points) – Use the MindTap DWP to analyze 3 of your 5 days from Part B and answer questions
  5. Part E (48 points) – Answer questions related to your Part D analysis
  6. Part F (44 points) – Retake the MyPlate Quiz, compare to your original, and complete the evaluation of the DWP assignment
