Overview
Topic:We will be studying the effect of an environmental factor on the growth of vegetables for urban agriculture.
Sources:
All your sources must be articles from peer review biological journals. No magazines, web-sites or un-reviewed materials are permitted. Don’t look for books, as that will be too much reading for the time we have. You will need at least 10-12 references for the final paper – 5 articles will be provided to you on Blackboard that you must use. You are responsible for finding 5-7 more articles to bring your total high enough. You may have to read 30 or more abstracts to find 15 or so articles that will be narrowed down to your final 5-7 additional references. We’ll do some work on this in Bio 300 lecture class together.
Format: This assignment has multiple stages – early stages, up to the peer review will count towards your Bio 300 grade. When you hand in the full final paper, the abstract and introduction (including literature cited) will be graded as an assignment for Bio 300. The remaining sections (methods, results and conclusions) will be graded as an assignment for Bio 301. The whole paper is to be written in a scientific style as a short experiment report. The formatting details should follow those used by the American Journal of Botany
