The enrollment data for The University of Houston is outlined in the below chart. Although this data is not precisely from IPEDS, this is what I found at the moment. I’ll run the data again from IPEDS and compare it to the information I found. UH welcomed nearly 49,000 students for fall 2025, the largest in enrollment history. In the fall of 2025, enrollment was driven by the largest incoming freshman class in UH history, with 6,715 first time in college students. Freshman applications grew 12% year over year, with early applications already pacing nearly 20% higher than last year. Forecasting over the next three years shows UH as one of the top universities in the state.
The strategic plan for UH is Together, we rise, together, we soar, focusing on student success, provide, a top tier educational experience to all students, national competitive research, social responsibility, build competitive athletics program and competitive funding. UH has surpassed its enrollment goals; however, will this eventually lead to a housing crisis on the main campus?
