Purpose:
An important responsibility of managers is to motivate their employees. This assignment provides students with an opportunity to role play the role of a manager who needs to motivate his/her subordinate, Sam Wesson a clerk at Home Depot. They will need to apply theoretical concepts learned this week from Chapter 5 to a real-life example and assess its practicality.
Task(s):
Read Chapter Five from the textbook. Understand different motivation theories. Select one which will enable you to suggest good recommendations to Sam Wesson to make his job more interesting.
Submission Format
- Write one page, three paragraphs. Use the following format:
- First paragraph: define motivation
- Second paragraph: select a theory of motivation and explain it, then using the theory give recommendations to Sam Wesson
- Third paragraph: Conclusion
- double-spaced
- 12 pt Arial
- 1" margins
- Sources should be accurately cited in APA.
- Include a covering page with title of the essay, name of the student, course name and section.
