This is a thought paper, which is a short essay (3–5 pages, maximum 1250 words) based on the article attached. The purpose is to show own thoughts about the article and the topic.
THIS IS NOT A SUMMARY. DO NOT WRITE IT AS A SUMMARY. It must be written as a CRITIQUE / INTERPRETATION. That means you are not retelling what the article says. You are analyzing it, evaluating it, and showing what I learned from it and why it matters.
What you must do:
- Read the article and write a paper that is a critique, not a summary.
- Include my interpretation of the article: what it made me think about, what ideas it gave me.
- Include my criticism/evaluation of the article: what I agree with or disagree with, what is strong/weak about it, what is missing, and why.
- Explain what I learned from it.
- Explain why it’s important (why the topic matters, what the implications are).
If you mention what the article is about, keep it very short (only enough context to support the critique). The main focus must be my critical thoughts and analysis.
