- Assess how the division of power creates tension between the branches of government and explain how this tension has impacted the policy.
- Evaluate how the system of checks and balances has impacted the policy.
- Differentiate between models of federalism as a form of democratic governance and provide examples of how models are manifested in your selected policy.
- Assess how collaboration, cooperation, and conflict impact the process of governing at federal, state, and local levels with respect to your selected policy.
- Determine the federalism model that best explains your policy and justify why that model is appropriate for the policy.
- Describe how the budget process works across different levels of the U.S. government, including how the selected policy is funded.
- Compare the regulatory schemes for funding programs and explain the benefits and consequences of different funding programs in relation to your policy.
