Overview
Please write the Project Close for your applied project.
At the beginning of the course, you were introduced to the 5W1H method as a way to investigate and better understand a topic by exploring the what, why, who, when, and how. Throughout this project, you have worked through those core areas step by step, building a stronger understanding of your topic and its leadership relevance.
In the original course structure, Week 10 was framed as the how. In this course, that final step is presented as the Project Close because your work does not need to represent a fully completed or finalized project. Instead, this section is meant to bring your thinking together by showing how your project could move forward, what you have learned through the process, and where your ideas may lead next.
As you write this section, reflect on how the what, why, who, and when of your project helped shape your understanding of the topic. Consider how those earlier sections gave your project direction, clarified its purpose, identified the people involved, and placed the work in context. From there, explain how your project might move forward in practice.
Ideas to consider for your Project Close include:
- what you have learned through the development of the project
- how your leadership thinking has developed or expanded
- how the earlier parts of the project connect to possible next steps
- what future direction, questions, or opportunities you see
- how this topic may continue to grow in a professional, academic, or personal context
You do not need to address every possible angle in equal depth. In many cases, leadership work continues to evolve, and this final section is meant to show that forward movement rather than a perfectly finished ending. A thoughtful explanation of where your ideas are headed is just as valuable as a fully completed outcome.
To strengthen your Project Close, connect your ideas to Waldman and O’Reilly (2024) and any other relevant course or outside sources for added reinforcement. This section should be at least 500 words in length and written in APA-supported format.
