Overview
Purpose *******I need a powerpoint and a script to read for each slide*****
The purpose of this assignment is to present a strategic recommendation for Starbucks which you analyzed earlier this semester and discussed with your discussion board group members earlier in the semester. This strategic recommendation should be presented as if you are a consultant hired by Starbucks' CEO, and you are presenting this strategic recommendation to the CEO. You can see an example presentation at this link
Rationale For This Assignment
Communication is essential to be an effective contributor in the business world, and video presentations have emerged as an important aspect of business communication. This assignment provides you the opportunity to further develop your communication skills by requiring you to develop and deliver a short, convincing presentation.
Content Requirements
- This strategic recommendation presentation will address one of the critical issues that you have identified that the firm is facing.
- The strategic recommendation you present must be original! DO NOT present a strategy that the firm has already implemented or is considering implementing.
- The strategic recommendation you present should be aimed at adding long-term value for stakeholders and long-term financial value for shareholders. You will need to conduct substantial research for this presentation in order to present a convincing argument that the firm should implement your recommendation.
- Your strategic recommendation presentation should include these key elements of a strategy:
- Clearly identify the critical issue being addressed and the S.M.A.R.T. objective of the strategic recommendation. What are you trying to achieve…market share, growth, prominent place in consumers’ minds, etc.? Be sure the objective fits with the critical issue.
- Clearly identify the idea you are proposing that the firm pursue and identify the industry you’re recommending the firm compete in with your strategy (it can be an existing or a new industry).
- Arena: Identify the target market for this strategy. What preferences will the firm be catering to in targeting this group of potential customers? You will need to support your assertions with research.
- Differentiator: Identify how the firm will win in the marketplace over current or potential competitors. Why do you think this strategy will work? You will need to support your assertions with research.
- Staging: Discuss the speed and sequence of moves to execute the strategy (i.e., the staging). For example, when (timing) should the firm introduce the product or service and what are the major stages? Explain your rationale for the staging.
- Economic Logic: Provide details for the CEO regarding expected (estimated) expenses and revenue for this strategic recommendation and rationale for this expectation. For example, you will want to discuss what revenue sources you expect will be new or increased, what new expenses they will incur, and/or where they might save costs.
Presentation Requirements
- The maximum time for the presentation is 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Any content that is past 3 minutes and 30 seconds will not be considered in the instructor’s evaluation.
- The presentation must be created in and recorded using Microsoft PowerPoint. You will need to use the “Record Slide Show” feature, which will allow you to record your voice narrating the slide show. For the purposes of this assignment, you should not appear in the recording.
- You need to include a References slide(s) at the end of the presentation that includes APA style citations for all sources utilized in developing your presentation.
