Overview
This week, we shift from understanding and analyzing social psychology concepts to thinking about how they show up in everyday leadership interactions.
Building on Weeks 2 and 3, you have explored how perception, cognition, and interpretation influence how individuals think, interact, and respond in leadership and group settings. This week extends that foundation by focusing on how personality and social behavior shape leadership interactions and outcomes.
Discussion Prompt
Reflect on a leadership situation—this may be from your own experience or something you have observed.
In your response:
- Briefly describe the situation
- Identify one or two social or cognitive factors that influenced behavior (e.g., perception, assumptions, bias, identity, interpretation)
- Explain how these factors shaped the interaction, decision-making, or outcome
- Share one takeaway about leadership awareness or behavior based on this reflection
👉 Focus on awareness and connection, not a full analysis.
