- Video- Christine Porath – Why Being Respectful to Your Coworkers Is Good for Business
Video- Simon Sinek – The Most Toxic Person in the workplace - OverviewThis week focuses on how workplace culture, leadership behavior, and organizational dynamics influence anti-social behavior in organizations.Rather than viewing toxic workplace behavior as isolated incidents, this assignment asks you to examine how leadership, communication, accountability, silence, fear, and group norms may contribute to the development—or prevention—of unhealthy workplace environments. In this assignment, you will analyze a real, observed, researched, personally experienced, or AI-generated workplace situation involving anti-social behavior through the lens of leadership and social psychology.Your goal is not simply to identify problematic behavior, but to examine:
- how workplace culture contributed to the situation,
- how leaders responded,
- how individuals and teams were affected,
- and what leadership actions may have improved the environment.
👉 Examples may include bullying, exclusion, retaliation, intimidation, manipulation, unethical conduct, abuse of authority, passive-aggressive behavior, workplace silence, or toxic leadership dynamics. • What organizational or leadership dynamics allowed these behaviors to continue?
👉 Consider leadership behavior, power, conformity, fear, silence, accountability, communication, culture, or group norms. • How did the situation affect individuals, teams, trust, morale, or organizational effectiveness? • What leadership actions could have improved the situation or prevented escalation? • What leadership lessons can be learned from this situation? • How does this connect to the importance of psychological safety and healthy organizational culture?Submission Format OptionsOption A – Leadership Analysis Paper • 3–4 pages (not including title, abstract, or reference pages)
