For this group assignment, each team will select a Fortune 500 company and complete a strategic
analysis in place of a traditional prewritten Harvard Business School–style case. This assignment
is designed to give students experience applying strategic management concepts to a current,
real-world organization using publicly available information. Rather than analyzing a static case
prepared by someone else, students will investigate an actual company, identify a significant
strategic issue or opportunity, evaluate relevant internal and external factors, develop strategic
alternatives, and recommend a course of action supported by evidence and course concepts.
The written report should be no longer than four single-spaced pages, excluding the sources
section, and should be organized around the following components
