The Decision-Making Process
As leaders, it’s important to understand who the stakeholders include in the decision-making process. Part of the decision-making process is doing a stakeholder analysis. This assessment will provide an opportunity to learn more about what to consider when determining your internal and external stakeholders.
Consider a project you have worked on in the past. Create a 1-2-page document that identifies the various stakeholders and why they would be interested in the project. Use the template below as a guide to ask what each stakeholder's role is in the project.

Perspectives on Leadership
As leaders, the decision-making process can be a challenge. Multiple levels of qualitative and quantitative information are provided to the leader to support their decision-making process. It’s important to be organized and so that the decision-making process flows appropriately. This assessment will provide the opportunity to build on your leadership decision-making skills through a stakeholder analysis.
Watch this regarding the decision-making process and stakeholder analysis. Watch this video on practical steps to decision-making, including creating a list, creating a stakeholder analysis, gathering information, and sharing with decision-makers.
Now consider a decision that you have to make as a leader. Using what you learned in the above video, conduct a systematic decision-making process. Include the following steps in your assessment and document them in an essay format, with each number being a different paragraph. Determine what you would do as a leader while making a specific decision.
- Identify the decision.
- Identify decision makers and influencers & their role in this decision.
- Identify what data is needed. Why?
- Identify where the data will be retrieved from. Why?
- Clarify who you will share the data with. Why?

Risk Template
Leadership decision-making has its own set of challenges. Using the "project" selected in Formative 1 and the documents completed in Formatives 1 & 2 and the "Risk Assessment Matrix" article, AND the "Economic Evaluation Tool" video, Develop an "Implementation Plan" that includes communicating back to those stakeholders involved in the process.

- Watch the video below about Economic Evaluation Tools.
- Develop a 2-3 page paper (excluding Cover & References pages) "Implementation Plan." The paper should be in proper APA format.

Determining the next best steps for any project is challenging. Several elements play a significant role in decision-making.
Specific Assignment Details
- Use the "project" selected in Formative C1: Formative 1.
- Using APA format, write a 2-3 page paper (excluding Cover and References pages) that outlines the "leader's next best steps".
- List evidence-based next steps that include finances, relationships with quality, health insurance, hospital systems, and the physician services market.
- At least four (4) peer-reviewed sources are required for this Deliverable.
