Unit 8 Completing Venture Plan

Being able to communicate a strong business case from defining the problem, presenting a solution, articulating financial logic, identifying risks, and recommending next steps is a core leadership capability. You now have a repeatable model (through Design Thinking and the Lean Canvas) that you can apply to future workplace initiatives, innovation proposals, and organizational improvements.

This final pitch deck is your opportunity to demonstrate how concepts across the course come together:

· Unit 2: Design Thinking and Ideation

· Unit 5: Opportunity Recognition

· Unit 6: Business Models and Innovation Strategy

· Unit 7: Scaling, Funding, and Long-Term Value

Task

Create a 10–12 slide pitch deck that communicates your innovation concept, business model, and growth strategy. Your goal is to persuade decision-makers that your venture (or internal innovation initiative) is viable, scalable, and worth supporting. Your deck should be concise, visual, and grounded in your Lean Canvas work. Strong pitch decks are:

· Visually polished and engaging

· Strategically grounded in your research and course content

· Clear, confident, and concise

· User-centered, emphasizing value creation

Professional pitch decks are visual, not text-heavy. Use clean layouts, color, icons, and images to tell the story. Your speaker notes (or narration) should contain the full explanation, not the slide itself. You may use any professional design tool (PowerPoint, Canva, Prezi, Figma). AI tools such as Copilot may support visual design and formatting, but the ideas and analysis must be your own.

Use the structure below as a guide (these are suggested topics, not required slide titles). Refer to the Unit 8 Venture Plan Rubric for scoring expectations.
