I am asking you to reflect on what you learned in Modules 1-5, demonstrate your understanding of Module 6, and apply what you have learned to your own understanding of the contemporary world.
Prompt:
Evaluate the extent to which various themes/topics covered in Global History Since 1500 persisted in the waning decades of the twentieth century and beyond.
Things to address:
- Which of the themes/topics that we have covered throughout this course (environment, economics, imperialism, the gap, industrialization, social movements, etc) do you believe most demonstrate continuity and/or change in the present age?
- How did the Marks and Klein readings from Module 6 demonstrate persistent issues or significant changes in world history related to your chosen themes/topics?
- What example from the Klein readings demonstrates such continuity and/or change in relation to the neoliberal revolutions of the late-twentieth century.
- What do you believe is the most significant continuity and/or change related to your chosen theme/topic that the contemporary reader ought to know about?
