BUSM625 Mergers and Acquisitions

Overview

I have the discussion forum that needs to be posted. Please check the instructions carefully.

Here is the instructions:

Assigned Readings:

Chapter 1: Introduction

Chapter 2: History of Mergers

Initial Postings: Read and reflect on the assigned readings for the week. Then post what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding in each assigned textbook chapter.Your initial post should be based upon the assigned reading for the week, so the textbook should be a source listed in your reference section and cited within the body of the text. Other sources are not required but feel free to use them if they aid in your discussion.

Also, provide a graduate-level response to each of the following questions:

  1. What causes merger waves? When was the last merger wave, and how would it be characterized?

[Your post must be substantive and demonstrate insight gained from the course material. Postings must be in the student's own words - do not provide quotes!]

[Your initial post should be at least 450+ words and in APA format (including Times New Roman with font size 12 and double spaced). Post the actual body of your paper in the discussion thread then attach a Word version of the paper for APA review]

We will use the APA 7 Standard for the writing

Here is some guidance from my professor

Title Page

Each assignment you submit has a Title Page. Please create the Title Page in APA 7 style, as described on page 32 of the APA 7 Manual. From the top to the Paper Title, you create four empty spaces. Between the Paper Title and the Author, you create two empty spaces, as shown in Figure 2.2 Sample Student Title Page. Please create your own Title Page specific to this course. You will receive point deductions if you do not follow the APA 7 style Title Page.

Note. Adapted from the “American Psychological Association” published by Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.), (2020).

References

The word References should always appear centered, bolded, and in plural form—no colon needed—even if you only have one source. Be sure to follow APA 7 capitalization rules, and remember to italicize the appropriate parts of each reference entry. Also, take a moment to double‑check the hanging indentation so everything is formatted correctly.

I recommend using https://reciteworks.com/ to review your references and in‑text citations. Recite is free up to a point, and while it isn’t perfect, it does a great job catching most common errors. These small details go a long way in polishing your work.

Word File/Grammarly/SafeAssign

When you submit your paper, please be sure to attach your Word file. Having the Word document makes it much easier for me to review your work and run it through Grammarly for a plagiarism check. I also encourage you to use Grammarly yourself to strengthen your writing; you already have free access through the University of the Cumberlands website. You can also use SafeAssign before turning in your paper to see your originality score. It is a helpful way to double‑check your work and make sure everything is properly cited.

Late Assignments

Late assignments will automatically receive a zero grade. So, please submit your assignments on time.

Graphs/Pictures

If you have a graph/table/picture in a picture format for a discussion post, you can upload it to the specific location.

Following these housekeeping rules will give you a strong start.
