In this assignment, we will reflect on how an organization is perceived from the bottom-up vs. top-down.
I CHOSE MCDONALD'S
Step-1: Pick any organization in which you have either held an entry-level position (for example, the fast-food company where you worked as a teenager, or the first assignment you had as a military recruit) or, if you don’t have work experience, pick an organization where you had a human interaction as a customer (for example, at the DMV, or the VA hospital).
Step-2: Answer the following questions in about a page of text (in your own words – do not use AI) and submit the file through TurnItIn. Please use the questions as a guide to write an integrated narration rather than writing each question and answer separately.
- Q1: How did you perceive the mission, goals, priorities and quality of the organization from your perspective as a junior employee or a customer?
- Q2: Now, put yourself in the shoes of the Head of that organization. How did you perceive the mission, goals, priorities and quality of the organization differently than from your perspective as a junior employee or a customer?
- Q3: Is there a gap between the two perceptions? Why do you think that is? What would you do about it if you were the Head of the organization, thinking about all the stakeholders you need to serve.
