Overview
I'm working on a calculus question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Pick one specific mathematical topic from the course that you enjoyed learning about, (quadratic functions) and describe how you would explain it to someone who has not seen it before but has the required background to understand it. For instance, pretend you're the guest instructor for the day on which this topic is introduced. Why is it interesting or useful? What made you like it? What related ideas or applications would you use to motivate it? Give a general idea of how it works and illustrate with a concrete example.
