Colorado State University Linear Equations Exercise

Overview

I'm working on a calculus discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Using linear equations Consider the following scenarios:

1. The manager at a concert venue keeps track of the number of adult tickets and student tickets sold each day and the total money received. On Wednesday, a total of 74 tickets were sold, and the money collected was $994. Suppose adult tickets are sold for $15 and student tickets are sold for $11.

  1. Draw a graph or figure to represent this situation.
  2. How many adult tickets and student tickets were sold?

2. You have a mix of gold and silver weighing 8414.63111 grams. You know the weight of a mol of gold is 196.96657 grams and a mol of silver is 107.9 grams. You have determined that there must be 59 mols in a total of material, but you want to figure out the exact ratio.
