Overview
Total protein in the crude extract was then determined using the Lowry assay using a solution of bovine serum albumin (BSA) as a standard. In order to be operating within the linear region of the assay, the original crude extract was diluted 5-fold. 150 µl of this diluted crude extract was found to contain 21 µg of protein.
