Overview
Assignment 1: Sustainability Plan LEED or Well Design Standards Sustainability is one of the most pressing challenges of our time across a wide spectrum of social, environmental, and economic matters. Sustainability is at the forefront of the construction industry, too. There is an increasing demand for green construction and sustainable building practices. Particularly the hospitality industry (hotel design) is implementing green design and construction practices, saving energy, water, and resources, and thus helping to preserve the environment. The Sustainability Plan is a new Contract Document that identifies and describes the sustainable objective, the targeted sustainable measures, and the implementation strategies selected to achieve the sustainable measures. Some states, like California, New York mandate including a sustainability plan. In Week 7, identify your sustainability strategies and create a Sustainability Plan for your hospitality project complemented with a LEEDv4 or WELLv2 checklist (posted at Brightspace). This assignment requires a floor plan for each floor that shows sustainable features and applications and a filled-out checklist. On your sustainability plan (s), callout compliance with widely used standards such as LEED or WELL. Remember, callouts are labels used to provide reference information for your drawings.
