UOFM Disposable Electronics in Chemistry Reflective Paper

Overview

For each module in this course you will be asked to write a reflection paper. The reflection paper is not so much a summary of what you have learned in the textbook but more what in the textbook encouraged you to explore a little further, either to substantiate or refute what you were reading. I want you to be critical about what you read. It is your chance to demonstrate your understanding of the material and how it has affected your thinking and practices as you move forward. In other words, how have you integrated the main course themes and readings into the way you think about the issue and how has it affected your personal practices. You may use any sources you find appropriate for the point you want to make. You do not have to address every issue raised by the book just the ones that perhaps impacted or surprised you the most. Rather reflect on what you have read and explore the more striking points a little further. This may lead you to either affirm what you think or change how you thing about the issue. You may want to speak about what actions you already take with regard to the issue or talk about some sort of action your review has encouraged you to take. I don't expect you to agree with everything the textbook says but if you disagree I want to know why and what resources you have explored to back up your position.

The reflection paper will require you to look beyond the textbook for additional reference materials. I would suggest as a norm a minimum of 3 additional references. Before you begin writing you might do the following:

• jot down some of the reading materials and class experiences that stand out for you. Consider why they stand out.

• decide if and how what you have read and learned has changed the way you think about the issue.

• decide how your studies have affected what you do in your personal and/or professional life.
