Overview
1. APA Style I am attaching a document on how to write a paper and how to cite references.
2. Paper length is a minimum of four pages and a maximum of six pages.
3. Your Cover Sheet, and references are not included in your page limits.
4. You need at least four scholarly references (journal articles). Wikipedia is not a scholarly reference. You have time please use the library to assist you if you can not find journal articles. Also, the write place is AWESOME and helps with papers. Please use them :) I wish I had this when I went to college.
5. It is a research paper so you need an introduction paragraph with your thesis statement. Then you will need to prove your thesis statement with your body paragraph and then conclude the paper with your conclusion.
6. You may use pictures or tables but they need to be properly labeled (Please see the APA rules on how to do this). If you include them they can not be one per page and you count that as one of your pages.
7. You will be submitting it with Turnitin. You will be able to see your Turnitin score. The Turnitin score tells how much of the paper is not your own. So you want a low score. You will lose points if your score is higher than 30%.
If your Turnitin score is higher than 30% you will lose eight points. If it is higher than 50% you will lose 12 points. If it is higher than 60% you will have a zero for plagiarism.
8. Lastly, you may not use another paper from another course and submit it as work for this course. This is true for all research papers in college. But I am now very clear so you know. The nice thing is that Turnitin will flag the paper and tell the instructor if it has been turned in anywhere in the world :)
