Overview
I will provide the tutor with the powerpoint presentations & a rough draft. It must be handwritten/ drawn on an iPad. Cannot be typed.
You must construct ONE SINGLE MAP of all the reactions we have done this semester, complete with reaction conditions. You do not need to provide mechanisms, but must at least show the reactants and products using general formulas for each. I should be able to trace from one molecule to any other in the map without lifting my finger. Adding in additional information will boost your score, as long as it is correct. A short draft is presented below. There are three criteria for grading:
Completeness - Does the graphic contain all the reactions we talked about? (25%)
Correctness - Is all the information presented correct?(25%)
Clarity - Is all the information clear, decipherable, and aesthetically pleasing? (Think about how infographics are designed with color-coding, distribution of whitespace, flow of information, etc - 50%)
This draft is, of course, not complete. For the full points, the final document must be complete and correct, as well as visually stunning. Presentation counts for this one. I highly recommend doing separate maps for each chapter AND THEN COMBINING them at points where you get redundancy. For example, alkyl halides show up a lot. So alkyl halides might be a huge node to be connected to lots of other different things. This would guide your organization of the final map.
