Overview
The objectives are drawing lewis structures for molecules or polyatomic ions that obey the octet rule, and that may violate the the octet rule. Identifying electron pair geometries, applying VSEPR theory to determine the shapes of molecules, identifying molecular geometries, applying valence bond theory to the hybridization of atomic orbitals and drawing valence bond sketches for molecules.
