**Note #1: Ice Bath
To create an ice bath:
Obtain a bowl large enough to fill halfway with ice, add water until you have an ice/water slurry. Place the drinking glass inside the ice bath. Follow the instructions in the Lab manual.
**Note #2: Reusing Glassware
Although you are working from home, be aware that you are performing chemical experiments. Your goal for each experiment is not only to reach a clear conclusion but to do so while limiting the outside factors. When you are reusing any glassware please rinse thoroughly and dry between tests.
**Note #3: Heat source
Denatured alcohol for your alcohol burner can be purchased from Walmart. This is not the same as Isopropyl or rubbing alcohol. Please be careful when using an open flame, do not walk away from the flame or leave it unattended. If you have a gas stove, you can use it in place of your alcohol burner if you can do it safely. Safety is important in the lab.
