Overview
The paper should have the following:
Title
Name of author and partner (for two different students, methods and results tables/graphs, introduction, and discussion may be identical, but conclusion should be different).
Introduction including:
- A description of what your taste test involves and why you think people may like one more than another - are they different fruit flavors, different types of beer or wine, different brands of the same type of chocolate, or different % cacao and levels of sugar?
- A discussion of the differences in the materials used. For example, in different levels of % cacao, explain in a paragraph how the chocolates are produced, then another 1-2 paragraphs what the differences are in the chocolates in that production process. For example, in a dark chocolate, focus on no dairy added, more cacao butter added back in and less sugar added. Be sure to cite your references as you use them. Draw on material from class as much as possible.
Methods - repeat of your protocol but using all changes that you made after submission, and typically with more detail on brands, nutritional content, amounts, setting, etc. and any problems you encountered.
Results - The data should be presented in two ways, a table of average of all ratings and a graphical representation of the data. Include tables and graphs with clear titles, such as Table 1.
Discussion and Conclusion - In 2-3 paragraphs, restate your objective, then discuss what your participants liked the best and what your data indicate are the reasons for this preference. Finally, tie this back to what you have learned in some way. For example, perhaps they did not like the Hershey's as much as Dove for a strawberry test, but liked the Hershey's more for the banana test. You might say something like: "Because the sweetness and bitterness ratings were very similar between Hershey's and Dove, it is likely the texture (Dove = 2.2 while Hershey's = 4.1) that made the difference in this preference." This will be part of the Material From Class Used and Style/Grammar grade as well as the Conclusion grade.
Acknowledgment of student critiques. What could have been done better? What was received well by your audience?
I will give you the rubric, my presentation and graphs
