In this activity, you will complete the synthesis of bulnesol. This is an opportunity to review some of the reactions that we have covered so far.
Bulnesol is a fragrance ingredient used in soap and perfume. It is naturally derived from the palo santo tree (Bulnesia sarmientoi). This compound has a soft rose-like odor. Side note: It was used in the Dark Ages as a remedy for syphilis.
