I. Answer these questions: (1) What are diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to you? (2) Why are they important for organizations? (3) Why are some organizations having a hard time implementing the idea of diversity and inclusion?
II. Watch this video, and share your thoughts. (e.g., What did you learn? Did you like her idea or suggestions? Can you add more ideas? How can you adapt this idea to your work? Do you agree or disagree with her points?)
III. We discussed one way we can implement and develop DEI: Speaking up - Communicating. Answer these two questions: (1) How can we foster a safe environment where people feel valued, have a sense of belonging, and are comfortable speaking up? (2) What can you do to speak up for inclusion and demonstrate an open mindset that embraces differences?
