Overview
This is not an ordinary presentation. In fact, it should not be called a presentation at all. This activity allows you to tap into your inner media producer and to show us how creative you are. In groups of 3, you are asked to reinterpret the newsreel. Give us a 10-minute snapshot of the most important news of the previous week. You will need visuals and you may incorporate videos (max. 2 min in total length!!). Make it fun! Make it interesting! Present the news in a talk show format (e.g. The Real, The Ellen Show), a late night show (e.g. Late Night with Seth Meyers), the morning news (e.g. 7 Morning News, Today), a top-10 show (e.g. Galileo Big Pictures), an interview (e.g. one of you is the correspondent and the others are the experts) – anything but the traditional presentation.
You will be marked on your ability to make the news accessible, understandable and relatable. You should also apply your knowledge of news selection, researching and writing.
