Does Asian popular culture offer different ideas of gender (be that masculinity, femininity or other ways of framing/ defining gender altogether) than mainstream western popular culture? If so, is it only role-playing as part of stage performance, or does it have impact on how people act their everyday lives? Does it influence how we see and think about gender?
