For this person you will need to develop an in depth application of cultural elements. You will need to describe this person's cultural roots, present co-cultures and subcultures, talk about this persons upbringing (socialization). Talk about how this person's identity has shifted over time and why. I then want you to drop your person into a symbolic exchange conversation and/or socialization process in a different country and explain how this person becomes competent. Please close out your essay with any alternate possibilities, reflect on your thought process and the class so far.
You need to think about these things:
1. What does the culture already look like when the person is born (Cultural Patterns/Iceberg). What does Macro culture look like?
2. How is the person socialized into their own culture by the adults around them? Who are the adults? (Micro Culture)
3. How does their identity form and develop within co-culture/subculture? (Micro-Meso Culture)
4. How would this person react to a new Cultural experience and why?
5. What are alternatives that would have given this person a different outcome in identity? (Remember that nothing is wrong here just brainstorm ways the person could be different)
