My favorite chapters between test 1 and test 2 would be chapter 10: Interpersonal Communication in Close Relationships and chapter 11: Improving Communication Climates. After reading chapter 10, I gained knowledge on ways we can enhance the benefits we receive from close relationships. For example, in my relationship with my partner, we need to show appreciation and listen to each other in order for us to have a close relationship. Having a good connection and communication can help us have a better relationship with our friends and families. One action that I can take to enhance the benefits we receive from close relationships is to show appreciation to keep the relationship going. After reading chapter 11, I have gained knowledge on how to create a more positive communication climate. The most important thing I can do to create a more positive communication climate is to confirm messages by acknowledging the ideas and feelings of others. For example, if my partner cooks for me, I would compliment him on his cooking so he feels that he did an amazing job. This can create a more stronger connection with the person.

After reading chapters 10-12 the two chapters that interested me the most was chapter 10 about interpersonal communication and chapter 11 about improving communication climates. In chapter 10 I found it interesting because it taught me about the different relationships that are within families and that we aren’t always gonna communicate properly together and understand the situations because even though we are a family it doesn’t mean we will always see eye to eye about everything. Even though there are disagreements we can still be close together through social media and texting to just have updates on each other and still keep in touch no matter how far we are away from everyone in the family. The next chapter that was interesting to me was chapter 11 which talked about improving our communication climate. In this chapter it taught me that if you are in a negative environment or climate versus a positive one you have to be careful how you use them and how it will affect our communication.
