- This week's question:
- With this year's MLB regular season and postseason fresh in our minds this semester, let's take a look back at a World Series gone by, all the way back to 2022. We just had a dramatic postseason end during our course, but we had true, unique history in the World Series two years ago ... so let's take a look back.
- In Game 4 of the 2022 World Series, we saw an absolute first. And with that first, you all have been tasked with writing a TV Script for ESPN SportsCenter the night of that particular game. You will be able to write a TV Script for your final assignment in a few weeks -- more to come on that -- so this will be a good foundation setter. And there is an example below of what a professional TV Script looks like.
- Like we've done in similar assignments, let's take a look back at the video highlights of the feat, with the link below. Then, you can utilize the right and appropriate -- and most impactful -- quotes to add to the script.
- Attached to this post is a transcript of Houston's starting pitcher and manager after the combined no-hitter over the Phillies. Watch the highlights -- we could all use a refresher or a baseline on what happened -- and then choose three quotes each from the pitcher and manager to use in a script, for a total of six quotes.
- We're not writing the full script yet, but let's see what your editorial vision comes up with in determining the most important and most impactful quotes from each person. When you select them and post them, feel free to paste them into your post, but more importantly, offer a detailed explanation as to why you chose those quotes, along with pasting them in there. Very important to read your thought process and see how you're grasping the importance of sports content as seen through the principal players of it all. Pasting the quotes in without your illustration of what they mean to the story, is only half of the assignment and will be graded as such.
- Any questions, please let me know. There is detail and precision in here, but there's also plenty of material for you to excel. If you are stuck in any way, let me know sooner than later.
