Pecha Kucha

Overview

You will create a Pecha Kucha, an alternative version of a PowerPoint, to share on our online classroom space and begin building community with your classmates.

Instructions

Prepare a six slide, two-minute total, Pecha Kucha presentation on your past, present and future and present it to the class. The presentation has to be timed within PowerPoint. Each slide should be exactly 20 seconds. Your Pecha Kucha may have images, pictures, illustrations, or other types of visuals. No quotes are allowed in your pecha kucha. Your pictures may have brief text, but the only words your slide must include are the following:

• Past
• Present
• Future

You can organize the slides in whichever order you want. Here is one effective method you can use:

• PAST (slide one, slide two) Who were you? Your hometown, high school, your prom date, your first steps, favorite cartoon character, parents, elementary school, symbols of your culture, religion, zip code, etc. Anything you want.
• PRESENT (slide three, slide four) Who are you now? Your job, organizations, family, your pet, vacations, or BFF (your new best friend forever), Greek organizations, clubs, your room, residence hall, favorite place, music, food, etc.
• FUTURE (slide five, slide six) Where do you see yourself after CSUN? Your career, job, geography, community, your ikigai, anything you envision yourself in the future.

• Each slide is 20 seconds long
• You include a minimum of 6 slides with images, pictures, or graphics.
• A narration accompanying each slide.
