Final Research Paper partial draft
This assignment is intended to help you get started writing your Final Research Paper (due next week), organize your initial thoughts, summarize previous research in the literature review, clarify your hypothesis, consider methods, get feedback from me, and give you time to make improvements/edits/adjustments as needed. I want you to do well on the Final Research Paper, and this draft assignment supports you in doing so.
This is worth 20 points. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below, you will earn the full 20 points.
The more you have written on this draft, the more feedback I'll be able to provide.
At minimum, please include the following:
- Clearly label all sections in this order: Introduction, Literature Review, Hypothesis, Methods, References, Appendix A (these should be the headings in your paper)
- Introduction paragraph (this should introduce the reader to your topic/focus)
- At least two paragraphs of your Literature Review in which you summarize a peer reviewed study you found in your research (using APA in-text citations; tips here: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/in_text_citations_the_basics.htmlLinks to an external site.)
- Your hypothesis (which may be the same one you submitted in your Final Research Paper Progress Report OR an edited version based on my feedback and/or your adjustments)
- Identify your proposed Method to test your hypothesis (you can include more details about your proposed study if you would like)
- At least one source in the References section (using APA for the citation; tips here: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/reference_list_basic_rules.htmlLinks to an external site.)
- Some detail in Appendix A (for instance, if you are proposing a Survey for your Methods section, you will want to include a few of the proposed survey questions you might use)
You are welcome to include a more fully formed draft, though you are not required to do so.
