Overview
To complete a draft for the presentation. Here is the outline:
Your assignment is the oral presentation: a two-minute-long video. Your video will explain your research project: why you chose it, what your research revealed, and what recommendations you will be making to your charity client.
In your video, you will be speaking extemporaneously - in a relaxed but professional style that shows you don’t need to read a script - and without video-edits, directly into the camera. (Almost all students use their smartphones.) Because your video is just two minutes long, your will need to revise your initial scripts and notes rigorously; you will also need to rehearse your talk a number of times.
The goal: You will find out that the more you rehearse and revise, the better your presentations will be. This is an important lesson, though students and professionals seem to forget it far too often.
For your video, you will be dressed professionally and can use a simple prop or two.
Presentation Components:
Body of Talk: Note that how you organize this depends on who your audience is:
Closing: • Prepared audience for ending? • Final summary? • Action Request? • Goodbye / Thank you?
