Overview

Part one: Part 1: The Winning Minds and Hearts Persuasive YouTube Presentation Assignment( just need powerpoint deck)

The persuasive presentation assignment will be recorded and uploaded on YouTube

8- 10 minutes long

Objective Statement:

This message seeks to persuade the school board and district leadership to approve the reintroduction of voluntary, non-denominational prayer in public schools as a way to support students’ mental health, moral development, and religious liberty.

Target Audience:

This proposal is intended for key educational decision-makers, including the Superintendent of Schools, School Board Members, the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, School Principals, and the district’s Legal Compliance Officer to ensure the policy complies with constitutional guidelines.

Persuasive Message:

Reinstating voluntary prayer in public schools is not about promoting any specific religion—it is about acknowledging the personal and spiritual needs of a diverse student body. In communities such as Atlanta, Dallas, and Jacksonville, many students rely on prayer or quiet reflection to begin their day with focus and calm. Offering a moment for voluntary, student-initiated prayer—whether silent or spoken—can enhance emotional stability, encourage mindfulness, and promote respectful and values-based school culture.

Today’s students face increasing social and emotional pressures, including anxiety, depression, and peer conflict. While academic resources are critical, schools must also consider holistic approaches that support a student's emotional and ethical development. A brief, optional time for prayer or reflection can serve as an outlet for inner peace and a reminder of personal values—without infringing on anyone’s beliefs or rights.

This policy proposal includes clear legal safeguards. Participation would be entirely optional, student-led, and non-disruptive. It would respect all faiths and students who choose not to engage, ensuring full inclusion and fairness.

We respectfully urge the Superintendent, School Board Members, and Curriculum Director to view this initiative not as a religious practice, but as a positive, student-centered strategy to support well-being, character-building, and freedom of expression in our schools.
