Week 3: Weekly Reading Response
Please complete the three critical thinking questions that tie the reading for the week. They may also tie in to the episodes you viewed for the week. Each of the three questions should be answered in full paragraphs. 5-10 sentences at least is what i should see for a paragraph. Be thorough and detailed and always operate under the theory that the more the merrier. This weeks questions: 1. On Page 35, Lane talks about parasocial relationships. Tell me about a parasocial relationship you may have. And what you believe connects you to one another. For example, you may feel like you knwow a celebrity from following them on instagram and/or tik tok, or there may have been a "popular kid" in highschool that you created a parasocial relationship with just from observing them every day of high school. Tell me why this relationship was or is important to you? Think about how the women of FRIENDS talk about George like they close with him. These next two questions are big ones so please know that your answers are only for my eyes and not intended to make you feel like you are wrong no matter how you answer them. This is a safe space for yout just explore. Lane's asks three questions at the end of the chapter on page 50, these questions are aimed at wheather or not you keep people at a distance so you can stay safe and not get hurt. WHich is not a problem. I've choosen two for you to explore: 2. Do you feel people wouldn't like you if they really knew you, or if they revealed themselves to you, you wouldnt really like them?
