Overview
Unit #1 Response Guidelines
Weeks 1-3
750 words minimum. Double-spaced text, 12 pt. Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins. Author-Date reference format for sources you cite (for example, Szczurek 2020)
Describe 1-2 turning points in your personal thinking and understanding of the history of international politics and relations politics in Unit 1.
Your turning points can include, but are not limited to, a specific quotation or section of a reading; a small or large group discussion; lectures; including specific comments or questions from others; a visit to student hours; an experience in your personal life, etc.
Include specific examples, including events, thinkers, theories, and concepts from the readings, lectures, videos and discussions in the unit.
Tips
- When in doubt, go for depth over breadth: include fewer texts, authors, or themes than you might initially think you need.
- Balance between your own thoughts and ideas, and the thoughts and ideas in the resources you choose. If you were having a live conversation with these writers and thinkers, is everyone getting a somewhat-equal say? Or is someone dominating the conversation?

I’ve uploaded all the readings for Unit 1 and Unit 2. I’ve also included the specific requirements for each unit. Could you please complete them just like the instructions ask? I already submitted this assignment two days ago on the same website, but it was flagged as AI. This is what the professor wrote in response. ( I just checked out your 2 Unit responses, but you didn’t include any lectures and readings from the class. These responses are meant to be your thinking after our class readings, discussions, and lecture, not random articles from online. And you used AI write them.)
