Overview
In this assignment, you are being asked to visit the El Paso Zoo and critically engage with the exhibits, educational material, demonstrations, etc.
During your visit, I would like you to document your experience (field notes and/or photos). Afterward, you will complete a brief written reflection that answers the following questions.
-How does the zoo reinforce and/or problematize the nature-culture dualism? In what ways?
-How does the zoo communicate about issues like climate change, pollution, deforestation, etc.? Are these messages effective? Why or why not?
-How does the space of the zoo (physical layout, exhibit spaces, placement of signage, etc.) shape visitor experiences? Does the zoo encourage more than passive viewership?
-What are 3 things you learned and/or surprising insights you discovered during your visit? i am uploading pics from zoo too and would be great if you put some in there, especially the ones that i am in but it does not go towards the 3-4 page limit. I am giving 4 hours but it should take about 2 and would be great if it came in around that time! i know you will have to go through the pics and i was just at the zoo so if you have any questions please let me know.
