For those of you seeking some more extra credit, please consider turning in an extra credit paper, due on the Friday of Finals Week, Friday, May 23rd by 11:59pm.
For the Paper, you may choose one of the following topics:
1) Choose one of the primates from the Sacramento Zoo. If you came to the Zoo with me back in April, then you already have 10 points of extra credit, and you can choose one of the primates we observed at the zoo and write about it. Research where this primate comes from, its social organization and behavior, as well as natural diet, how endangered it is, and what kinds of conservation efforts are underway, if any, to help the species.
OR
2) Choose one of the more recent fossil hominid species that we have covered in class. Describe how and where it was discovered, and by whom; explain where researchers think this species fits into our family tree and how closely or distantly related we may be to this species. Describe some of the challenges with interpreting the surviving data, and whether there are any surprising conclusions which have forced us to revise what we previously thought about human evolution.
The Paper must be at least 2 pages double-spaced at minimum. You must cite at least four published sources using APA format. All of these sources need to be properly cited within the paper, with the author's last name and date of publication, and page number where possible as in (Smith 2021:4), with full references in a separate references section. Use our library webpage or the help of a librarian to find published sources- do not cite Wikipedia or online web pages. Ask me for help if you need it!
Please only upload Word doc, docx, or PDF (not Pages or another format).
Please do NOT use Chat GPT or plagiarize any part of the paper, as this will lead to zero credit. Use your own words and cite all of your sources so that I know where you found all of the information you present in the paper.
