Public memory and monuments
Description: After reading and looking at the materials, consider the following questions.
- Consider the recent removal of TQ from LGBTQ on the Stonewall monument website:
- Who benefits from removing these populations from the historical narrative?
- How do you think alliances (pg. 207) could potentially resist these erasures?
- How does communication play a role in remembering and public memory? Are there more creative ways to do this to counteract censorship? Through media, education, etc.
