Overview
This assignment will explore Geo-spatial technologies by having you find examples of how these technologies are utilized in everyday life. Information regarding these technologies and some examples were detailed in the Geo-Spatial Technologies Overview and Examples page.
Assignment
Make sure you understand the variety of tools that can be considered Geo-Spatial technologies. When you are comfortable with these tools, search the internet and find THREE websites that have either an internet-based GIS mapping application or a map/application that you think was created utilizing Geo-Spatial technologies. Maps that are mentioned in the text or used in other course material are not eligible. After finding a website that fits these criteria complete the following for each website:
- Explore the application/maps thoroughly to fully understand the information analyzed along with the functionality of the website
- Provide the URL for each website
- Explain the function/data the map/application provides
- Comment on what you like and/or do not like about the map/website and what you learned by exploring the website
Submission
This assignment needs to be submitted as a document utilizing an acceptable file format (.rtf, .doc, .pdf). An example of a format that you could utilize is provided below.
